How to apply for an identification card
- The interested party will submit the application through the following email: regimeninterno@ulpgc.es, indicating the full name, ID number, and position of the applicant (there are only three options):
- Research Staff (contracted researchers in research human resources calls, predoctoral and postdoctoral).
- Research Staff Contracted in Project (ICP1, ICP2).
- External Research Staff (Guest Collaborating Researchers and those contracted by FCPCT).
- Once the application is received, a response will be sent by the same means indicating the day and time the applicant must come to the issuing point for the photograph (optional) and card pick-up. The appointment for card issuance must be attended with an ID card. The issuing points will be as follows:
- Office of Subdirección de Régimen Interno, Administrative Main Building, Camino Real de San Roque, 1, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
- Administration of the Economics, Business, and Tourism building, module C, Tafira Campus
- Specific periods will be established in the Lanzarote and Fuerteventura delegations for card issuance.
- Access to the facilities must be authorized by the Research Group Coordinator and requested from the building administrators.
Documentation to be submitted for the incorporation of predoctoral researchers (R1).
- The predoctoral research staff in training who are hired under the different calls must join ULPGC on the date indicated in the concession resolution.
- The selected individuals will submit the following documentation through the ULPGC's electronic headquarters in the procedure called "Contracting of Research Staff in Training":
- Model 02 Contract acceptance.
- Model 09 Personal data sheet.
- Updated work history certificate.
- Academic degrees that grant access to the PhD program, only if any of them have been obtained outside of ULPGC.
- Data collection form for payroll payment.
- Model 145 Income tax withholding on employment income.
- Responsible declaration of previously enjoyed scholarships or grants of a similar nature regarding their objectives and amount, for the purpose of calculating the maximum period of contract enjoyment, whether positively or negatively, using the available standardized template. In the case of a positive declaration, it must be accompanied by the announcement of the grant enjoyed, the contract formalized based on it, the explicit waiver document by the interested person, with proof of submission to the corresponding authority of the waiver.
- Responsible declaration of not being separated through disciplinary proceedings from any Public Administration service, nor being disqualified for the exercise of public functions. Candidates who do not possess Spanish nationality must also submit, in addition to the declaration relating to the Spanish State, a responsible declaration of not being disqualified or in an equivalent situation, nor having been subjected to disciplinary sanction, criminal conviction, or equivalent that prevents, in their State under the same terms, access to public employment.
In exceptional and duly justified cases, the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer of ULPGC may authorize the postponement of incorporation, for which it must request it from the Vice-Rectorate within the deadline indicated in the call.

Documentation to be submitted for the incorporation of doctoral research staff (Postdoctoral -R2- calls)
- The research staff hired under the provisions of the call must join ULPGC on the date established in the Resolution of concession of the call. ULPGC will formalize the contract with the postdoctoral researcher once they have submitted the following documentation to the University:
- Acceptance of the contract.
- ID card, if the person is Spanish. In the case of European Union citizens, the NIE. In the case of non-EU citizens, a work permit and residence permit in Spain.
- Original Doctoral degree for verification.
- Originals of the documents submitted in the application.
- Document with banking information for payment of remuneration.
- Responsible declaration of not being incompatible.
- Document of affiliation to Social Security, if previously employed.
- Responsible declaration of not being separated through disciplinary proceedings from any Public Administration service, nor being disqualified for the exercise of public functions. Candidates who do not have Spanish nationality must also submit, in addition to the declaration regarding the Spanish State, a responsible declaration of not being disqualified or in an equivalent situation, nor have been subjected to disciplinary sanction, criminal conviction, or equivalent that in their own State, in the same terms, prevents access to public employment.
- In exceptional cases and duly justified, the Vice-Rectorate of Research, Innovation, and Transfer of ULPGC may authorize the postponement of the incorporation as established in the call.

I am a foreign research staff from an EU country (not Spanish). What documentation do I need?
- You must apply for the Foreigner Identification Number (NIE).
- You must apply for a Foreigner Identity Card (TIE) for stays longer than 6 months. You have 1 month from your effective entry in Spain to apply at an Immigration Office or Police Station.

I am a non-EU researcher. What documentation do I need?
- You must apply for a employment authorization before entering Spain.
- You must apply for a Foreigner Identification Number (NIE).
- You must apply for a Foreigner Identity Card (TIE) for stays longer than 6 months. You have 1 month from your effective entry into Spain to apply, and it can be done at an Immigration Office or Police Station.
- You must pay the fees (Fee #038) using the Official form #790 (link).
- You must provide a criminal record certificate.
- You must provide a copy of your passport, scanned on all pages, even if they are blank.
